Introduction
The following terms, as well as our Privacy Policy, Community Standards, and Terms of Service, apply to creators and administrators of Spaces, Groups, and Events on CollectionStation. Other terms and policies may also apply depending on how you use our services (for example, marketplace rules and catalog guidelines).
Spaces, Groups, and Events help collectors build communities around shared interests — shops, clubs, shows, franchises, and collecting niches. Space team members and Group organizers, moderators, and administrators act as leaders, representatives, and caretakers of these communities. You are expected to represent yourself and your community authentically and to promote the safety and well-being of members and followers.
When Space or Group leaders create content that violates our policies — or when Group organizers or moderators approve violating content created by others — we may take action against the Space, Group, or Event where that content appeared.
Policies for Spaces, Groups, and Events
Creation and Use
Do not create Spaces, Groups, or Events for purposes that violate our Community Standards. Ensure that content you create, or permit others to create, complies with those standards. Repeatedly using other people's content without proper attribution is not allowed.
We may take action against Spaces, Groups, and Events when they appear to have been created to violate our policies, or when they are used to repeatedly or severely violate our policies. When we remove a Space, Group, or Event for violating our policies, its administrator(s) may not be permitted to create new Spaces, Groups, or Events with the same or similar subject matter in the future.
Names
Do not give your Space, Group, or Event a name, slug, or username that contains profanity or violates our Community Standards. Do not change the name of your Space, Group, or Event in a way that significantly alters its existing purpose. Do not merge or repurpose two Spaces when their purposes are dissimilar.
Additional restrictions may apply to Space and Event names, including uniqueness and impersonation rules.
Verification
Do not place a verified badge, checkmark, or similar mark in the profile picture, cover photo, or branding of your Space, Group, or Event, or otherwise falsely represent that CollectionStation has verified or authenticated your Space, Group, or Event. Only Spaces that CollectionStation staff have verified may display official verification provided by the Platform.
Gambling
Do not use a Space, Group, or Event to promote online gambling without our prior written permission. This prohibition also applies to games where anything of monetary value is required to play and anything of monetary value forms part of the prize. Common examples include betting, lotteries, raffles, casinos, fantasy sports, bingo, poker, and paid "break" formats where outcomes depend on chance rather than a disclosed, purchasable product.
Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment
Do not use a Space, Group, or Event to promote drug or alcohol addiction treatment centers without our prior written permission. Treatment centers must be appropriately licensed before they are eligible to be promoted on CollectionStation.
Online Pharmacies
Do not use a Space, Group, or Event to promote the sale of prescription pharmaceuticals through an online pharmacy without our prior written permission. Online pharmacies must be appropriately licensed before they are eligible to be promoted on CollectionStation.
Promotions
If you use your Space, Group, or Event to announce or administer a promotion (such as a contest, giveaway, or sweepstakes), you must ensure that the promotion complies with applicable legal and regulatory requirements — including providing entrants a copy of the official rules, disclosing offer terms and eligibility requirements, and registering the promotion with relevant authorities where required.
You must also require participants to:
- fully release and hold CollectionStation harmless from liability; and
- acknowledge that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with CollectionStation.
Your promotion must not require or incentivize participants to share, repost, tag others, or otherwise publicize your promotion on CollectionStation. CollectionStation will not assist you in administering a promotion. If you use our services to administer a promotion, you do so at your own risk.
Data Collection
If you collect content or information from people who interact with your Space, Group, or Event (for example, through a contact form, sign-up field, or call-to-action), you must first provide clear notice. People from whom you collect content or information must explicitly consent to your use of their data. You must clearly explain that you — not CollectionStation — are collecting the data and describe how it will be used.
Space Insights
Space team members with access to Space Insights receive aggregated metrics about follower activity and content performance. Processing of Insights data may be subject to additional terms in our Privacy Policy, including regional requirements for users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions with data-protection laws.
Branded Content and Commercial Relationships
If you have been given anything of value to promote someone else's products, services, or listings within your Space, Group, or Event, you must clearly disclose the commercial nature of that content. Misleading followers or members about sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement violates our Community Standards.
Event Costs and Invitations
If you create or promote an Event — such as a card show, shop appearance, meetup, or live break — you must clearly and prominently disclose any actions or expenses required to attend or participate, including admission fees, table fees, travel expectations, and incidental charges beyond the stated cost. Event invitations and announcements must not be generated by automated or deceptive means.
Legal Compliance
Spaces, Groups, and Events must not promote illegal activities, products, or services. You are responsible for ensuring that your Space, Group, or Event complies with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations, including those related to age-restricted activities and substances, consumer protection, and collectible commerce.
You are solely responsible for including all necessary disclosures within your Space, Group, or Event, including disclosures required to indicate the commercial nature of content you post and the accuracy of marketplace listings linked from your community.
